If it’s time for a mattress replacement, you might want to reflect on whether your current mattress is the best size and type for you, before going out and buying one of the same to replace it. For babies, cot mattresses are best. Usually, the panel of the cot/cot-bed mattress is waterproof and sometimes this is detachable and washable too. In both cases, we’d recommend having a waterproof mattress protector too. This will help to give you peace of mind in the event of any accidents!
Make sure when buying a child’s mattress that it is the right width and height to fit your child’s bed. This is very important, as if there is extra room left over the mattress can move around. This can leave gaps where children’s arms, hands and legs may become trapped between the mattress and the bed.
Small single mattresses up to double mattresses are great for kids’ bedrooms, as they don’t take up too much room, but still give your child enough room to spread out. If you’re looking for a mattress for very young children, safety is the priority. So you’ll want to put a bit more research into the choice you make.

A king bed is balanced, luxurious, and a little bit grand – and any kind of king bed in a master suite or guest bedroom is always bound to impress.
A single mattress and bed is an ideal choice for a smaller room, as it doesn’t take up too much space. They’re perfect for children’s bedrooms and guest bedrooms, or even for adults sleeping alone too.
Choosing a single size mattress doesn’t mean you have to compromise on comfort. A double mattress is also a great size to upgrade to as your child approaches their teens – growth spurts can come all of a sudden, and being well prepared never hurt anybody!

Upgrade to a full sized single mattress to ensure that you’ve got plenty of room to sleep soundly.
If you’re shopping for a mattress that will sleep two adults, your options are small double, standard double, king size, and super king. Small double mattresses are a great options for teenagers and adults sharing a bed once in a while. But, the majority of adults regularly sleeping in the same bed will benefit from an upgrade to a bigger mattress size.
The size of the bedroom also comes into play. For example, you wouldn’t put a super king sized mattress in a box room.
