About Us
At Bensons for Beds, we’re driven by one purpose - to help more people get a better night’s sleep. And with 70 years in retail, and 100 years in manufacturing, we’ve got plenty of experience in making this mission a reality.
While we’re known for our beds and mattresses (the clue is in the name!), our product choice is constantly evolving, with bedding and bedroom furniture making up a large part of our offer.
And while we have stores across the country, we offer customers three ways to shop: in-store, online, or by phone.
Our exclusive brands include Simply by Bensons, Slumberland and Staples & Co, while our brand partners are iGel, Sealy, Tempur, Hypnos and Jay-Be.
We also have a sister brand, eveSleep, an online-only business with a mission to help you get the sleep you need to rise and shine.
Sleep isn’t one-size-fits-all. So, whatever you need, we’ll find the solutions to match, with all kinds of bed combinations, for all kinds of sleepers, to suit all kinds of spaces. Made to order, just for you.
Our Heritage
Originally founded as a general store by
Cyril Benson in 1950, Bensons for Beds launched their first bed centre in 1972.
In 2011, the new Bensons for Beds business was launched, merging the existing Bensons for Beds, Sleepmasters and Bed Shed brands under one umbrella.
In 2021, Bensons for Beds operates over 170 stores across the UK and its website www.bensonsforbeds.co.uk. It is supported by its headquarters in Accrington, Lancashire, as well as distribution centres in Ayr, Huncoat and Tewkesbury
Bensons manufacturing
We manufacture all our own brands at our dedicated factory in Cambridgeshire, where everything is made to order.
Over 70% of the mattresses and divans that we sell in our stores and online are made in our factory in Huntingdon and are totally unique to us. This includes Simply by Bensons, Slumberland, Staples & Co and eveSleep.
